Santorini is a place of indisputable beauty. During your stay at Esperas hotel, it is guaranteed that you will feel rejuvenated and relaxed under the colourful Santorini skies. Whether you are staying in our Studios, Cave Houses or Honeymoon Suites you will have the opportunity to enjoy stunning views of the Aegean Sea, and to witness unforgetable sunsets.
Nonetheless, the island has a lot more to offer than its beauty. Santorini’s rich cultural past has been followed by a vibrant artistic present, allowing the island’s visitor to attend a variety of contemporary art exhibitions and cultural events. You may choose among music concerts, performance spaces, cultural festivals and modern galleries.

Let’s take a look at some contemporary cultural events that you could enjoy while staying at our hotel.

Ifestia Festival

As you are enjoying the view from your room’s private terrace, you will notice the unique texture and colour of Santorini’s land. The unique landscape of Santorini is due to a volcanic eruption that took place in the mid-second millennium BCE. The eruption is to be considered one of the largest volcanic eruptions on Earth. On the 15th of September thousands of Fireworks erupt on Santorini’s skies in celebration of the volcanic explosion. You can enjoy the fireworks while you can also attend the artistic events of the Ifestia festival, including a re-enchantment of the volcanic explosion.

Megaron Gyzi Festival

This festival is hosted at the Gyzi Mansion which is located in the centre of Fira.
It takes place during the whole summer season. It includes theatrical events, lectures but mostly focuses on music concerts. The musical events are both international and Greek. Among others, live music shows include contemporary Greek music, classical guitar, cello performances, Cretan lyra and Jazz music.

The International Music Festival of Santorini

When it comes to live music Santorini has a lot more to offer. If you enjoy listening to Jazz but also appreciate classical music, do not miss the Santorini International Music festival. It has been taking place for more than 40 years in the Petros M. Nomikos Conference Centre, a historic building with excellent acoustics.
Each September, both tourists and locals are able to experience elegant performances by chamber orchestras, well known choirs, choirs of Byzantine music, jazz and tango groups or classical violin and piano musicians.
